The Delhi Norwich U11 59ers delivered an outstanding performance at the Outdoor River Classic AA Tournament, held January 2–4 at the Riverworks facility in Buffalo, capturing the championship with a dominant finals victory.
The weekend began with a strong defensive showing as the 59ers shut out the Armstrong Arrows AA team 4–0 in their opening game, setting the tone for the tournament. In game two, the 59ers faced a tough challenge against the Amherst Knights AAA team. Showing resilience and determination, Delhi Norwich battled to a 4–4 tie, capped off by a dramatic tying goal scored with just seven seconds remaining.
The 59ers carried that momentum into their third game, earning a hard-fought 2–1 win over the Tecumseh Eagles to secure their spot in the championship final.
In the finals, Delhi Norwich left no doubt, delivering a dominant 6–0 victory over the Tecumseh Eagles to claim the Outdoor River Classic AA championship. The win was highlighted by strong team play, disciplined defense, and consistent scoring throughout the lineup.
