U9 MD Champs!
The Delhi-Norwich 59ers U9MD1 are Belle River U9 FULL Ice Championship Warrior Division Champions!
This was a single elimination style tournament which meant the team would have to go undefeated to be crowned champions of the 32 team division.
The 59ers started with a 6-2 win over the Mooretown Jr. Flags on Friday followed by a 5-4 win over the Brantford 99ers in an exciting back and forth game.
Saturday saw the team match up against the Riverside Rangers and come out on top with a 4-3 win.This set up a matchup against the 3-0 Norfolk Knights. The 59ers came out of the gate strong and finished the game with a decisive 4-1 victory.
There were now only 2 undefeated teams in the division, the Delhi-Norwich 59ers and the Eastside Muskies out of Detroit. The 59ers saved their best game for last and came out on top with a huge 5-2 win to become the Warrior division champions!
